About Me
I'm Alex Holiday — a retreat facilitator, yoga teacher, coach, and ceremonialist based in San Francisco. My work lives at the intersection of social justice and earth wisdom, where deep healing meets collective care.
For over two decades, I've guided individuals and groups through transformational practices rooted in yoga, meditation, ayurveda, and nature-based ritual. I am an embodiment specialist that creates retreats and rites of passage experiences that are intentional, grounded, and deeply attuned to the cycles of the Earth.
Whether I’m working with teams, youth, or individuals, I bring a soulful, inclusive, and intuitive approach — honoring both personal growth and the wider systems we're part of.
I believe in the power of space: space to breathe, to feel, to remember, and to imagine new ways of being. Let’s create something meaningful together.
I have spent the last 20 years in deep study of spiritual philosophies. In this time I have found many paths, all leading to the same basic principles.
Love yourself
You are not separate from nature
Drop judgement
You are both human & divine
These principles provide the foundation for the work that I brings into the world. I feel deeply unified by a love for the Earth and the people who live in it.
I hold a B.A. in Women's Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz, have a 500 hour Yoga Alliance teacher certification, &1200 hr Ayurvedic Coaching Certification, I have studied with many great masters and continues to learn from the illuminary Jean Mazzei.
Core Values
Wisdom
My work is rooted in ancestral, earth-based wisdom that lives in our bodies and in the land. Through yoga, ceremony, and nature connection, I help others remember what they already know—that we are part of something vast, intelligent, and alive. This remembering invites a life lived in harmony with self, community, and the Earth.
Intuition
I trust the unseen currents that move through us. Intuition is not a luxury—it is a birthright and a tool for survival, clarity, and leadership. In my work, I create spaces where intuition is honored and restored, helping individuals and groups move from fear and confusion into alignment and trust.
Love
Every offering I create is infused with love: fierce, boundless, and tender. I believe love is the most radical force we have. It’s what calls us back to ourselves and each other—and what allows true healing, joy, and transformation to unfold.
Embodiment
True transformation begins in the body. Embodiment is the practice of living fully in ourselves—not just in thought, but in breath, bone, and sensation. In a world that often pulls us out of presence, I guide people back into their bodies as wise, living instruments of truth. Through movement, stillness, and somatic awareness, we learn to listen, trust, and respond from a place of deep inner knowing.
Authenticity
I honor the messiness, beauty, and truth of the human experience. Authenticity means showing up with integrity and vulnerability. My work invites people to come home to themselves, to shed what no longer serves, and to stand rooted in their truth—personally and collectively.
Inspiration
In times of grief, burnout, or disconnection, we need spaces that reawaken the spark. My retreats, coaching, and ceremonies are designed to help people reconnect with their inner fire—the part that dares to imagine, create, and live in a new way.
Meaning
We are not here by accident. Each of us carries a unique gift and a purpose shaped by our lives, our ancestors, and the world we long for. My work supports individuals and communities in remembering what matters, reclaiming their voice, and participating in meaningful change.
Responsibility
I walk the path of reciprocal care—with the land, with community, and within systems. I support my clients in developing the awareness, courage, and compassion needed to lead lives of both personal healing and collective responsibility. This includes advocating for justice, equity, and belonging for all beings.
The Feminine
I uplift feminine principles—intuition, rest, cyclical living, emotional depth, receptivity, and nourishment—as essential to our survival and thriving. My offerings restore balance between the feminine and the masculine, honoring the wholeness of what it means to be human and alive.
Land Acknowledgment
I acknowledge the land I work from known as San Francsico, California is the traditional home of the Ramaytush Ohlone people, who have been caretakers of the area since time immemorial. Despite centuries of genocide and occupation, they continue as vibrant and resilient federally recognized and unrecognized tribes, bands, and rancherias. I recognize movements of indigenous and ancestral rights to honor the earth wisdom carriers still advocating for land sovereignty on occupied territory.
